Best Time to Film in Bangladesh: A Season-by-Season Guide

Winter, spring, monsoon and autumn in Bangladesh — what each season looks like on camera and how weather, light and festivals affect your schedule.

Bangladesh changes completely with the seasons. The same river can be a gentle stream in February and a vast moving sea in August. Choose the season that serves your story.

Winter (November – February)

The most comfortable and predictable time to film: dry, cooler, with soft light. Morning fog can be beautiful but delays flights and boats. Best for most productions, the Sundarbans and the coast.

Spring & early summer (March – May)

Hot and humid, with growing haze. Sudden storms ("Kalbaishakhi") arrive in the afternoons. Pohela Boishakh, the Bengali New Year in mid-April, is a colourful moment to film.

Monsoon (June – September)

Heavy rain, flooding and the greenest landscapes of the year. Perfect for climate, river and wetland stories — swamp forests and haors are at their best — but plan buffer days and waterproof everything.

Autumn (October – November)

Rain eases, fields turn gold and skies clear. A good balance between lush scenery and workable logistics.

Festivals and calendar notes

Eid holidays bring mass travel and closures — avoid scheduling moves then. Durga Puja, Pohela Boishakh and winter fairs offer rich colour if your story needs them.
